Tat # 2 or OMG mom!

I went and got my second tattoo today. This one is a Celtic knot that represents motherhood. I love this form of art. My daughter is not to thrilled with me but I am the mom and I am the boss, right? Well I thought about getting two hands around my neck and my two kids name on them. My kids have no sense of humor! The artist at the shop said he had never had a kid trying to talk the parent out of getting a tat it's the other way around. What a world I live in. Tattoos are on my bucket list, life is so short live it. There are a few more things on my list, but that's for another blog
Peace Out! patty

Girl Scout Cookie Time

Oh my goodness!!!
You always here people say " Oh, Fall is my favorite time of year!" Well, Girl Scout cookie time is my favorite time of year. I love them all, I think I am the original Cookie Monster, I even kinda look good in the color blue. I was a Girl Scout back in the days dinosaurs ruled the earth and the cookies where 50 cents a box. Now we pay 4.oo a box. But I pay the price for my addiction in more ways then one. I just polished off a box of Thank you Berry Munch. Yummo!!! Peace out, Oh and don't forget the milk.

No More SCARY Pink

Well, my scary pink room is now gone. We now lovingly refer to it as the Republican Room, and the reason you ask, the color. Three walls are painted elephant skin gray and the fourth is darkest purple. I love it!!
This paint think has always been scary for me, for years I stayed with white walls adding color other ways but not anymore. I love colored walls, bring on the paint Home Depot I'm not afraid anymore.

My Morning Drive to School

I've decided that Route 3 is a battle ground, between animals and automoblies. The death toll for these battles seem to rise daily, animals are losing, it seems to me. I don't know if I've ever seen so many dead animals, espeically skunks in a long time. I saw a strange looking one today. It looked like it had a white uni brow the rest was black, but the tail. The strips ran the wrong way on it. I can't understand why the death rate is so high, unless people are a sleep and don't see them. Just wonder what you all think. Peace out patty

Wow, I think I've decide who I want to be when I grow-up

When I was little my thoughts of who I wanted to be when I grew up varied from day to day, one day a mommy just like mine, an astronaut when I watched one walk on the moon, an ices skater after watching Peggy Fleming in the Olympics. My thoughts ran all over the place. So I think I'll put being an astronaut on that back burner and I really don't have the knees for being the next Peggy Fleming and I don't really like being cold. After watching a small video of an octopus opening a jar (which I put on my blog) I've been fascinated with the mind. So I've decided I'm going to go into some field that lets me study the mind. Maybe not just octopus minds, but I'm thinking maybe I'll throw in a human, once in awhile. So, I've put this video on my blog to help me stay focused. Peace out, from patty's world

The New Place 2

Well, we been here a couple of weeks and I still can't get my Cheerleader Wagon in the garage. That's not all our drinking glasses are MIA, we have been drinking out of the good crystal, you know the ones you get out for those special times. Well, guess what we are have one of those times.HA!! The dogs are still alot freaked out over people walking by or kids on bikes, you know these two are county dogs. I still feel like we are staying at a motel, vacation will soon be over and we will go back home. I really like it here and plan to stay for a little bit, but does anyone have any suggestions on what to do for the dogs? And the drinking glasses, well if they don't show by Thanksgiving I guess I'm headed to Walmart. Peace out! patty

Tucker and Cookie in Another Life

I know this might sound alittle crazy, but I'm sure my dogs were human in another life. There is just to much human like actions that go on for me to believe differently.
Like right now, my dog Tucker who is a Cocker Spaniel is sitting on my lap watching me type this, when I get on the computer he always does this, I've often thought that he wants to talk to someone.
Tucker is a rescue dog and he came to live with us with a yellow ball. Tucker walks around with this yellow ball, ready to play at a moments notice. So I'm sure he was a ball player in a human life. He is so darn cute I can't understand why or how someone could hurt him or give him up.
Now, Cookie is our black Cocker Spaniel, she is our nurse when you have a sore on your leg she is on it. And if she hears you cry she is right there ready to help. One evening I was sitting at the table with a cup of coffee, the dryer stopped so I went downstairs to take care of it, then on my way back upstairs I heard something funny. What did I find but Good Night Gracie's Oreo Cookie standing on my kitchen table drinking my coffee. Ok, I could live with that, but I just wonder how many times she drank my coffee and I didn't know it. Life is good. Peace out! patty

The New Place

Well, friends I'm blogging in a new place. The house is really nice and the neighborhood is peaceful even with children everywhere.
There is one bedroom that has four pink walls and that is the room I'm going to change into the office. So I'm sitting here wondering how anyone could sleep in a room so pink, it's not flamingo pink, maybe a Mary Kay pink caddy color. Never understood that deal either! I stressed out all week over this crazy move, I've decided the next move I'm packing a carry on and selling the house fully furnished, even dirty dishes in the sink. My daughter is having the time of her life, we have landed in a nest of teenagers. That's cool because she hasn't ever had close neighbors let alone girls her age. The dogs are still trying to figure it all out oh and the golden decided she was not coming with us. the new owners have little kids so she will be happy. I'm tired but happy, hope we can make new friends and memories here. Peace out. patty

Move over here I come!

Well, the move took place this week-end. I would never in my wildest dreams thought I had so much stuff, I guess everyone says that. There is a fine line between collecting and hording, and not to sound judgemental but my Dear husband was a horder. I really think collecting is organized hording ( a nice way to put it ), but don't tell my sister-in law. The same blood runs though her veins as my Dear husband, she wouldn't take it well. Dear husband had some crazy thoughts about saving and buying,if it was on sale buy it ( price is right ) but now if you never use it was the price right? My dear friends, I found things still in the sack it came in, now please don't think I didn't love my Dear, I did alot but I just never understood his thoughts on shopping. Here is another thought that I never got, keep it you may need it someday. Ok, you might need it,but if you can't find it you go buy another, that's why I have doubles and sometimes triple of things. I don't know what the ansewer is and please if you have any helpful hints post them, but my new home doesn't hve the space for collecting ha! ha! so we will see what I can do without my Dear husband to blam. Peace-out, patty

Stumped or oh my do I have writers block?

Truthfully, I have to tell you all I've always thought it would be cool to say " I'm a writer "  You know when
the IRS wants to know what your job is or your children are asked at school " what's your mother do all day?"
Well, that's a dream I've had, along with being married to Bob Seger so they both have about the same odds. I've taken my daughter to book signings and to authors readings. We all can write but it takes pull to get your book published. I really haven't ever went as far as to find out how to do that, but I haven't met Bob yet either.
You know maybe this is the start of something called writing. You have to start some place.
I've been thinking about starting to do some domestic stuff, like cooking. I know that sounds strange but my husband was the cook at our house. So when we make this move ( the kitchen in the new house is really nice) I think I'll start cooking and sharing my adventures. I know you're saying isn't there a movie like this?  Yes there is but this one will be staring ME.  So hang on for Patty's new adventures. Peace out. Patty

Saying Good-Bye

As I sit at the computer, stacks of boxes around me memories of years in this house are heighten. I can hear my daughter running in the back door all excited, because Max our dog was a Daddy. I ran to see what she was talking about and the cat had her kittens in the dog house. Of course I explained, that Max was a step-Daddy, and all was good.
My thoughts of walking the floor, the first time my son used  the family car, to do the teen thing and ride around town. Or the night I got my first phone call from my son the American soldier in Afghanistan.
The Birthday parties, and the Christmas gatherings. How do I let that go?
And that horrible morning I came home and found my husband / best-friend dead. I suppose some people would say I'm a silly woman to have such an attachment to brick and mortar. Our homes are the safe place to go at the end of the day, and I guess that could be a grass hut or a castle on a hill.

So this move is not just a move but a new beginning, one I will take with heart-ache and excitement. I hope when this time comes for you my friends, it comes with more joy then heart-ache. Peace out. patty

Homecoming really is a Homecoming

My daughter's High school has an amazing tradition for homecoming. There is something happening all week, from Powder Puff Football ( girls play the game and boys are the cheerleaders ) to individual classes having their own skits about the game and its out come. My darling daughter is head cheerleader of the JV and they start months ahead practicing for the halftime show. So by the week of Homecoming she and the other darling cheerleaders are now so tried and strung out they are no longer darling. This is a very stressful time for these girls but they do an amazing job, the first time I saw the routine I was speechless. If Cheerleading was easy they'd call it Football is my daughter's favorite saying. But back to the school's traditons. There is a parade to end all parades each class builds a float  not just the classes in school but years back. Last years class of 1969 had a float that looked like the magic bus headed to Woodstock and everyone on it was dressed in tye -dye shirts it was great! After the parade they all meet behind the school and young and old enjoy each others company. Cheerleaders from the past if they can still fit in it wear their letter sweaters. The Queens from past years are there. Everybody is celebrating being home and together. The students of the past and the students of the present are so proud of their school you can seeit and hear it at the game on Friday night. Then of course the dance on Saturday night is fun and exciting for the students. My daughter will be wearing a long beautiful red dress with a jeweled bodice and yes, her flip flops! But the lady at the dress shop said " you won't see them" we will see!! So my dear blog friends please say a little pray on Sept. 25th that the flips don't flop the red dress. Peace Out, patty

My Life with Three Dogs or My Life with a Rockband of the 70's?

We have a new addition to our family, a Golden Retriever. The name my daughter has given her is Penny Lane, yes, after her favorite Beatles song. Penny showed up after a storm one night, thinking she was just passing through I gave her a drink and a pat on the head. Well, she has moved in and now rules two Cocker Spaniels, and two humans who thinks she's all it. So the cockers are Cookie ( Gracie's Oreo Cookie ) and Tucker ( Sarah's Tucker Everlasting ). Penny and Tucker have become great friends, but Cookie has had her nose out of shape since Penny has arrived. So we have had a fight in the kitchen, a fight in the livingroom, and who knows where next. Have you ever wondered what the do all day when you aren't there? I just know if Tucker could turn the computer on, he would be e-mailing someone!
The two cockers always slept with me, yes I'm one of those crazy dog lovers that let them sleep on the bed and sit on the sofa. Well, here is the new problem queen size bed, now three dogs, add me and guess who might be on the floor? So you say easy fix? Guilt kicks in and I can't make them sleep on the floor. So my thoughts are one big copper colored retriever will be sleeping with my( let's keep her mom ) daughter and two cockers with me. No three dog night for me folks!

My Life in the Parking Lot

School has started and once again so has my wait in the parking lot. I wait to pick my daughter up in the afternoon at school and then in the evenings I wait to pick her up after cheerleading practice. In those times I have found it is not really a parking lot but a drag strip. The sixteen year olds that race to get to the exit and the boys with their new hot four-wheel drive trucks make for an interesting wait. Now I understand what speed bumps are about. Was I really that crazy at sixteen? What about those lines? How hard is it to park between two lines? We were told to color in between the lines, how come we can't park in between the lines? But once again this is a high school parking lot and all the rules are different. There is Wal-mart and that is a different story.

Mindless Road Rage or just mindless?

Here is the question I have today. Please tell me how people can drive down a major highway and think they could possibly be the only one on the road?
I guess you might think this is my road rage appearing and you might be right. OK, driving down the road at 55mph or so and a truck with Mr. I should not be driving any longer pulls out in front of you. Now I don't have a problem with that as long as you speed up to traffic, but Mr.I Shouldn't be driving is rolling along at 35mph!  Now , I ask you does that not deserve a blast of my horn and shake of my fist? OK, so as I blow past him with my blood pressure higher then it needs to be, there is the local police sitting in his normal morning spot. He waves and I smile like some little kid who has been caught in the cookie jar. Yes I've used one of my nine lives!
As I sit in the parking lot I think my first question about people and thinking they are the only ones on the road makes me laugh. Because what was I thinking when I honked and waved my fist? How could this truck get in my way, on my road in my time?  Next posting my thoughts on parking lots. Peace out- Patty

Looking for a new life

Before I jump into my new life story, I need to bring you up to speed on how i got to this blog.
A year ago in May my husband of 15 years and I took a vacation to Mexico ( a week of fun and sun ). We did have alot of fun and to much sun but that's another story. Well, we came home and the next morning I found my dear husband dead in his Lazy Boy chair. So begins my journey for another life. Oh, a few things I didn't tell you, I have a 15 year old daughter and a 26year old son. Having them is my saving grace. I would not have gotten out of bed the next day if it wasn't for them. Family is the glue that holds you together, maybe I'll make a bumper sticker out of that line.
I have a random thought here that I have to say, I love the band Incubus. Their music is truly amazing! Thank you for letting me have my random.
Before I bore you all with my sad story, i read a story last night about writing and guess what? I'm doing this all wrong! So I'll try to think of something more entertaining for my next entry. Peace out, patty
